iSmileKid's Top Ten Tips for a Lifetime of Beautiful Smiles!

  1. Continue dental care while you're expecting your baby.

  2. Your child's dental care starts at birth: clean your baby's gums with a soft, wet cloth or gauze after nursing and before bedtime.

  3. Start a nighttime brushing ritual with the very first tooth.

  4. Schedule your first pediatric dental visit when the first tooth appears or by 1 year of age, whichever comes first.

  5. Never put the baby down for a nap or the night with a bottle containing anything other than water.

  6. Eliminate sippy cups and pacifiers by the age of 2.

  7. Avoid fruit juices. Offer water to drink and whole fruit to eat.

  8. Avoid sugary drinks including soda, sports drinks and energy drinks

  9. Schedule a dental visit for your child every six months.

  10. Teach your child to floss by age 6.
