National Children’s Dental Health Month
Every February, we celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month to promote the benefits of good dental health in children. Started by the American Dental Association, this year’s focus is to “Defeat Monster Mouth.” Through the use of posters and activity sheets featuring the McGrinn Twins, Flossy and Buck, along with Den and Gen Smiley and K-9 their dog, the goal is to expose more children to the importance of brushing, flossing and eating healthy snacks to defeat “monster mouth.”
In this year’s campaign, the Smileys, McGrinns and K9 are in the USS SweetSwatter, a spaceship circling the globe, fighting against the Sweet Tooth Invaders. It’s a fun—and positive—way to help a range of ages to understand the importance of brushing, flossing and avoiding sugary drinks and foods.
